Christopher Kane Fall 2010

I like Christopher Kane's Fall 2010 collection because it looks like what Heidi would wear to a biker bar. If I want to take the analogy too far (and I do) the other side of the collection is how her grandfather would dress in drag. Again, I like the collection.

Guess Who!

One of these is not like the other...mine was shot by Terry Richardson and Mark was on Jersey Shore.

Liberty of London for Target

The lookbook for Liberty of London's collection for Target is out and...it looks really unflattering. I am a huge fan of the Target collaborations, but for all their problems, the lookbooks at least usually look really great (then you see the product in store and it can go either way). This one is starting out a little iffy though. Maybe it's just that I'm not a fan of floral print maxi dresses? The jumpsuits (long and short) are both perfectly vintage-seeming without being too sweet and the knee-length shorts have that surf-gone-city thing that's so in right now. I'll still be excited come March 14 when it hits stores.

Oh, and they have the boys covered. I'm more likely to wear those swim trunks than anything else. Expect accessories and a bike as well.

American Museum of Natural History: The Hall of North American Animals

Pics from our weekend trip to the American Museum of Natural History. These are from the Hall of North American Animals. The ones of the Hall of Gems and Minerals will come next. The museum is one of the coolest places in NYC to visit. It is full of interesting history from the architecture to it's place in that book. The suggested donation is $16, but I feel no qualms for donating $1 and that's a steal for a full day's worth of exploration. Full disclosure: do not go if you are allergic to strollers, tourists, or overly heated interiors.

Pixie Market Finds

Three looks from Pixie Market that are getting me very much in the mood for spring. The scalloped floral shorts, polka-dot cardigan, and clogs look is obviously tops.

Paper Tiger floral shorts, $78, at pixiemarket.com; Tunic Blouse, $114, at pixiemarket.com; Feature tan skirt, $66, at pixiemarket.com

Timo Weiland Fall 2010

Here are some belated pictures of Timo Weiland's Fall 2010 collection. It's only Timo and Alan's second women's collection, but the clothes are adorable and they are definitely proving that they are a label to pay attention to. It doesn't hurt that they are two of the nicest people in the industry.

My favorite looks are the black and white pants with the knit coat and the black and white blazer with the cropped sweater over the button-up, which is definitely a huge trend for fall.

Click here to watch a day in the life of the designers as they work on the fall collection.

Miu Miu Nails

This time I did my nails inspired by my favorite Spring 2010 collection, Miu Miu. I wanted to get the holographic sequin detailing of her skirt, but settled for a half-nail of Chanel Kaleidoscope topped with multi-colored glitter.

Rodarte Fall 2010 Soundtrack

My favorite thing about this afternoon's Rodarte show wasn't the clothes (yes, they were inspired, no arguments there). Top would have to be that it was streamed live on ShowStudio because without ShowStudio, this post would not be possible. Thank you, ShowStudio. The second best part of the show for me, though, was the soundtrack (which I could hear thanks to the live stream). Here is the playlist of tracks they used for the runway show (thanks to ShowStudio, of course):

Little Anthony & The Imperials / "I'm On The Outside (Looking In)" / The Best Of Little Anthony & The Imperials / Courtesy of Capitol Records
Beak / "Blagdon Lake" / Beak / Courtesy of Ipecac Recordings
The Flamingos / "I Only Have Eyes For You" / American Graffiti / Courtesy of MCA Records
Santo & Johnny / "Sleep Walk" / Rock Instrumental Classics, Vol.1 : The Fifties / Courtesy of Rhino Records
The Fleetwoods / "Come Softly To Me" / The Best of The Fleetwoods / Courtesy of Rhino Records
Elvis Presley / "Blue Moon" / Elvis Presley / Courtesy of Sony BMG Records
Ritchie Valens / "Stay Beside Me" / The Best of Ritchie Valens / Courtesy of Rhino Records
Link Wray / "Rumble" / Rock Instrumental Classics, Vol.1 : The Fifties / Courtesy of Rhino Records

It's like the Mulleavy's made me a mix CD!

French Braids- Runway Hairstyle Obsession

It should come as no surprise that I'm obsessed with these braided hairstyles from Elie Saab Spring 2010 Couture and Doo.Ri Fall 2010. Must learn to fishtail braid.

Jason Wu Fall 2010 Outerwear

Jason Wu is cementing his position as a fashion industry darling and while his designs are sometimes too sweet for me, I am obsessed with the outerwear from his Fall 2010 collection. I always gravitate towards parka shapes or oversized blazers and he took both and updated them with his signature ladylike style.

Organic by John Patrick Fall 2010

I have always been a fan of John Patrick's slightly retro sensibilities and subtle sex appeal. Every season he seems to get better and better and his Fall 2010 collection is proof of that. Inspired by what he called a Joni Mitchell/Sloan Ranger woman, he designed some great suiting pieces in mixed prints and added flirty fun dresses. I think the leather pleated minidress is going to be a piece to watch as it showed up at Jen Kao as well. My absolute favorite is the floral print suit he seems to include every season. I'm dying for the chance to wear a full-on floral suit and when it arises, I will seize it.

Jen Kao Fall 2010

Jen Kao gets bigger and bigger every season and with good reason; she knows exactly what's cool at the moment. For her first runway show, she added knits, fur, color, and evening wear to her usual black jersey and silk mix and it worked out perfectly. Said to be inspired by natural elements like pyrite, her signature boudoir detailing always adds a sexy edge. The front row filled with the likes of LSD, Julia RR, and Becka Diamond and the amazing Eddie Borgo jewelry doesn't hurt either. Hopefully I'll post a pic of the earring they handed out this season soon- it's already in permanent rotation.

Astronauts Twitter from Space

All of these images came from Japanese Astronaut Soichi's Twitter account, @Astro-Soichi. From the looks of it, when he comes back down to Earth, he could be quite the amateur Twitter photographer.

The images are of Bucharest, Romania; Bahrain; Space Shuttle Endeavour; Hokkaido, Japan; New Orleans; and the Space Shuttle Endeavour.
