Charles David Fall/Winter 2010

There's nothing like fashion week to make you feel like shoes are the center of the universe and your current collection is particularly inadequate. I took a look at the Charles David Fall 2010 after seeing a sponsored post they did with Who What Wear Daily and fell in love with their Post bootie (top). I love the tailored Alexander Wang vibe they have--perfect for marching around all fall. It is far more likely, however that I would end up in the Rally boot (bottom), short, flat, and something that might even look good after I scuff it up.

Suno Spring 2011

Suno could not be cuter or look more fun to wear for Spring 2011. I love how they have progressed so naturally beyond just doing African kanga prints into a wearable and robust collection. I do have to say though that I first fell in love with the label for those prints because I grew up using kangas for everything from picnic blankets to dresses. The collaboration between Suno and Loeffler Randall for the footwear is just the icing on the cake.

Joseph Altuzarra Spring 2011

Vogue.com launched just in time for New York Fashion Week and while it isn't yet my first destination when I want to see a show, it is quickly becoming my favorite. What really stands out is all of the extra content they provide: video, fact sheet, details, beauty, candids, and my favorite, the preview. These images shot leading up to Joseph Altuzarra's runway show highlight his inspiration, the construction of the garments, and the work that goes into a show. Congrats to Vogue.com on the incredible new content, now I can't wait to see who they cover every day.

Haircut Inspiration: Freja Beha Erichsen

Thinking of going shorter with bangs. But then red lips are apparently a must.

Lindsey Wixson for Barneys, Meoooow

This isn't 100% new, but I couldn't resist posting this shoot that Lindsey Wixson did for Barney's Fall Women's Designer Book. Favorite household pet + favorite model + favorite super retailer = too much to handle.

See the rest of the shoot here on Barneys.com, sadly it is not downloadable.

Thanks to Tanya Brown for the hint!

Lastly, I cannot wait to see how many awesome shows Wixon gets during next week's NYFW!

Vena Cava Spring 2011

People are calling this the season that Vena Cava solidified themselves as a leader in "New American" sportswear. The jury is still out on what exactly New American means, but Sophie Buhai and Lisa Mayock's simply styled take on the eighties seems as good an answer as any. The entire collection blends exciting desirability with easy wearability. It makes me want to throw on a heavy eye and red lip, reconsider halter tops, and get to reading about their main source of inspiration, the Memphis design movement.

Rachel Comey Fall 2010 Shoes

(Rachel Comey Foxglove Heel, Rachel Comey Pompano Mule, Rachel Comey Veil Mule, Rachel Comey Bugle Boot)

You may know I have a thing for Rachel Comey, especially her shoes. By the first looks of it, she's done it again for Fall 2010. She added a few new colors to her now signature Bugle Boot, then took that same shape and used it for a mule and heel. I also love the Foxglove Heel, a pinup style pump that has a bit of the same quirky styling, but in a more wearable way. For Spring I felt that her shoes had a distinctly Margiela feel and that holds true this season as well with the solid shapes, minimalist feel, and I don't want to say hoof-like quality, but I will.

Eddie Borgo FNO Ring

If there's one thing that must come out of FNO for me, it is this Eddie Borgo signet ring. How convenient that Eddie shares (some) of my initials.
