Celine Winter 2013 Jewelry

One of the best things about Celine's jewelry is the strong statement that their use of metals makes. Typically there is a weight or thickness to the materials that makes even the most simple pieces feel substantial. For Winter 2013, the range of bracelets would be a great add to any minimalist outfit, but I can't help but see Miansai's work in the designs (shop those below). At any rate it seems that hinged solid metals are having a moment, so snatch something up ASAP.

Trend: Grey Camo for Fall 13

It all started when I first saw this grey camo Prada Saffiano Double Zip for pre-sale at Saks. I've always been drawn to camo print, but done up in grey it feels like a fresh. Neutral, but not. Then I came across Bass's printed loafers and it all spiraled out of control. I'm not sure how many pieces of grey camo is too many, but there are a lot of great ones available for fall.

Zara Woman Fall 2013

The Zara Woman Fall 2013 lookbook is kind of major. It's so cool to watch a brand, even as established as Zara, develop a brand identity through their imagery.

Kate Spade Saturday Resort 2013

When Kate Spade Saturday first hit the scene, they had some adorable casual basics. With every season's release the designs and patterns have gotten more sophisticated and that must more lust-worthy. It's no surprise then that their Resort 2013 collection is their cutest yet. The mix of ladylike, tomboy, retro and modern minimalist is just right. For more on the brand's well-timed growth, read "The Rise and Rise of Kate Spade Saturday" by my friend Lauren on Fashionista.

Maybelline Color Show Polka Dots

I picked up this Maybelline Color Show Polka Dots nail polish at Duane Reade on a whim the other day. Bored, I painted it on top of the blue I had already been wearing for an inadvertent robin's egg effect. After my first swipe, I knew I had a winner. Maybelline has several other colors with jelly bases, but "Clearly Spotted" lets you use the polka dot glitter over any of your shades. Go get one of these polishes now--it's already my summer favorite!

Catskills Weekend

A few weekends ago, Mark and I drove up to Phoenicia in the Catskills to stay at The Graham & Co and soak up some nature. The hotel was so charming and unbelievably relaxing. I really cannot wait to go back. A cute weekend away is best accompanied by cute accessories, so I brought along my new preppy-perfect tote from Kate Spade.

J.Crew Fall 2013 Lookbook

Styling might not deserve 100% of the credit for how great J.Crew's fall 2013 lookbook, but it certainly helps. Also, snaps to them for trying to attempt pre-orders on the looks.

Been Busy

For several reasons, which I will not bore you with, my blog has taken a back seat. Instead of trying to force it, I've been trying to use my other platforms to test what I really want to talk about. You can follow me on Instagram, Pinterest (this is a favorite) and Tumblr. Tumblr has been the most fun experiment lately. I'm exploring images that inspire me as well as the more technical business side of retail. I'd love to know your thoughts and keep tight while I work my way through the theme garden.

**Fun fact: There are 5 billion Google search results for "sorry for not updating my blog"

Marble print is having a bit of a moment with Alexander Wang's first Balenciaga runway and Kenzo's hot collaboration with Vans and New Era. Now I'm hankering to get my hands on any piece I can from home decor to beachwear.

Loeffler Randall Pre-Fall 2013

I've been trying to be more strategic about the purchases that I make, which is hard for me because I am a consumer at heart. After seeing the Loeffler Randall Pre-Fall products on Refinery29, I knew that I'd have to be strategic just whittling down the list of things I love. The black and white floral Rider bag and buckled boots are two major items that I know belong in my closet for years to come. This is the one time I wish fall would come sooner.
