Beauty to Try: 1.31.13

Now that it's the pits of winter I'm focused more than ever on keeping my skin in good shape. Changing weather tends to make me break out, but I gave Dr.Jart+'s Pore Clear Mask a try the other day and was made an instant believer. The formula is amazingly moisturizing and not only does it not clog pores, it helps minimize them. Aside from newly glowing skin, I like to keep it simple with subtle shimmery lids thanks to new formulas by Clinique and Physicians Formula and all-over body moisture.

I just bought this super simple Thakoon Addition tank dress and can't wait to start building a transition wardrobe around it. Aside from the usual (bags and denim jackets), I've included a few new home items that I've been eyeing as I consider updating my room's decor.

Of course I love this Vogue February 2013 editorial shot by Peter Lindbergh featuring Amber Valletta and Taylor Kinney. Heavy denim Americana always gets me, but I especially love the top shot because that tree and open plain looks like an African safari.

Into Now: 1.7.13

I've been thinking a lot about my own style lately--probably because the new year means new starts and also because I am obsessed with these sort of things. Due to the somewhat slow start to 2013 I have been inspired by minimalist basics--the perfect sweatshirt, the perfect tote. But because I am not a true minimalist I love the idea of adding sparkle, be it in an ear cuff or *the best* shade of glitter nail polish I have ever used.
